New Baby Boy
Oliver Kyle Costner was born on November 16, 2009. He weighed 5 lb. 15 oz. and was 19 in. long. This little guy was so anxious to get here that he decided to come early, but what fun is there in coming early? Why the fun is that he wanted to come on Ethan's Birthday! I still can't stop laughing whenever I think about it. Two boys, two years apart to the day. Silly Oliver!
The delivery went very well, getting to the hospital was the rough part. Traffic always seems to go slow when your in a hurry. Anyway, once I was ready I pushed twice and there he was! So little and cute. Welcome to the family Oliver!

Flu Shots
Today Ethan and I went with Diana and Colton to go get the H1N1 flu shot. It was pretty crazy how many people showed up. We arrived around 6:30 am and the line was already about a thousand people or more deep. It was cold, I only had my sweater to keep me warm and walking Ethan around. It was amazing to see so many people, I couldn't see the end of the line. So the place opened at 7:00 am and the line slowly crawled forward. Luckily I had planned on a long time so I had plenty of food and drinks for Ethan and me. So when all was said and done we finally made it to the building and got our flue shots getting out at 11:15 am. That was the longest time I have ever stood in line before, but now I can say that we've had the experience of a mass vaccination. Quite the adventure. Don't ever want to do it again! At least we missed all the drama that was happening in the front of the building later in the day when there was an accident and so many cars violating parking rules and so on, that they said occurred on the news.

So it has been a little depressing lately. I spent tons of time making little girl dresses to try to sell at a yard sale. In the end I had made eleven dresses in about four days. But we had no luck when we tried to sell them. Maybe people don't think 'hand-made' is something worth having, or is of a poor quality compared to store bought clothes. Or maybe they thought five dollars is to much to pay for some thing brand new at a yard sell. So anyway you could say I was a little disappointed. I really tried hard to help bring some needed income in but it was of no use and that's what upsets me most. You can't make a descent dollar doing something you love, oh no, I guess the only way I can make an income for our family is by watching others children. So I guess that's what will have to happen after the baby comes. I guesss what I've learned from this is that you can't expect good things all the time no matter how hard you work. Oh well such is life. So at least I can give the dresses away, which is what I normally do anyway, and to those who find no home, they will be shipped off to D.I. where anything goes.
Please no comments, this is me just ranting!

Ethan decided to try on his daddy's helmet, he thought it was a little big.
Poquito is going to be a devil for Halloween this year. He didn't like how the horns covered his ears so he just sat there and didn't move. Poor dog, but we still like to dress him up!
I repainted the swing and decided to go with the season and paint a Fall design on it. It was lots of fun and i was really glad that it turned out cute. What a lot of work, I had to scrap of the old flaky paint then paint the whole thing in white, then for the design i used a stamp for the outline then used a clear coat of spray paint over that so it would be water proof then I painted each leaf using watered down acrylic paint in red, yellow and, orange. Ta Daa! When that was dry I went over it again with the clear coat so hopefully the paint will stay on there longer.

Cute growing boy
Ethan in his new Sunday clothes. (Yep the tie is too big, but it works)
Ethan always enjoys his bath time. He also likes to try to touch the camera when you are taking his picture. Baby finger prints! Have to love them!
This is a hole we cut in the wall for him to run through. We got the idea from the Ikea children section. They have one that has plastic strips hanging down on it and Ethan loves to run through it every time we go there. So we thought why not do that at home? That wall was put in after the house was built so we didn't feel bad cutting a hole through it. It was just two by fours and that cheap wood paneling, no dry wall or any thing. We are planning to finish it off by putting extra carpet around it so that he can't put any thing in the wall and so he won't get scratched when he goes through. And if I can find some plastic like they have at Ikea I will hang that up also. We will have to wait and see what the finished project will be!
A day at the copper mine
We went to the copper mine one day when Kelly had the day off. He and Ethan had never been there before. Ethan liked looking over the edge at all the big trucks, they were going pretty fast for how much they had in them. there was a school bus down there as well for some reason but it gave you an idea of how big those truck really are. We had lots of fun!

It's a boy!
Yep it's a boy! We went into the doctors office and got to see our new addition to the family. When they were showing the head, Ethan kept saying head, head, head! After a while he got tired and wanted to be on the table with me, basically he was being himself, a mama's boy. When we told him it was finally time to go he yelled 'Go!' Every kept saying how cute Ethan was in the waiting room when he would babble at them. Silly boy. So we're excited to have another boy to keep Ethan company. He has had lots of practice with Colton so he should be a great big brother.
New cat
This is our new cat, Smokie. I found it across the street from my parents house mewing away. I put it down and went back across the street and it followed me so we took it over to Kelly's parents house to give it some food and water. It was pretty hungry and dirty so we figured it was most likely a stray. It has the most lovable aditude, I was having a hard time saying no to keeping it when it kept following me around purring and rubbing my legs. So we took it home and it met Poquito. Poquito was very excited about it because he loves cats, the cat was kind of scared of him, but after Poquito calmed down they got along great. Ethan Likes it to he runs after it yelling 'Kitty!' and laughs when he sees it running around being frisky. The cat is also very nice to Ethan so far no scratches. So dispite telling my self I didn't want a cat one came and found me and who could say no to that?
The cat likes to climb the tree and to be outside so for the most part so it is going to be an outside cat.

Don't cry over spilt salt
On the Fourth of July we went over to my mom's house to eat. Addison thought she would be nice and share her food with Ethan.
Ethan was being a trouble maker one day so I put him in his chair. When i turn back around he is dumping salt out of the salt shaker. I thought it was pretty funny so I started laughing which made Ethan cry. Poor baby, don't cry over spilt salt.

The Zoo!!!! We took Ethan to the zoo for the first time and he really had a lot of fun. We started by the pond and he didn't want to leave there. Eventually he figured it out that there were animals where ever we went. One he really liked was the squirrel. It had its paws on the glass as if to say 'please let me out!' We thought it was cute how Ethan put his hand on the glass too. After a while he got tired of looking at the animals, it looked like his brain was full and he couldn't take any more in. So we took him to the store to buy a souvenir and he finally chose a long yellow stuffed snake and he wouldn't let go so we guessed that was what he wanted. In all we had a really fun day.

This is Ethan in his hospital clothes before he went in for surgery. He was having fun playing with the toys and didn't have a care in the world.
We took him in for surgery to fix a birth defect called hypospadia, about one in every one hundred boys are born with it. The doctor at primary's said he does the surgery about three times a week. So it is a pretty common defect. In case your wondering what defect it is, it is where the hole he pees through is in the wrong spot. So he was all ready for surgery and we walked him to the door and handed him off to a doctor and he was off as cool as could be. He didn't cry or anything when they took him. An hour and a half later he was out of surgery looking really out of it. All the nurses kept saying how cute he was.
So we were at the hospital from 7am to 12pm it was a very long day. The doctor warned us that he would announce his diaper changes for a few days and boy did he scream the first time, poor little boy. But now he is mostly healed and is looking good and he probly won't remember the ordeal.
